The line between Orense and Lugo is made up of two different sections of single-track Iberian gauge (1,668 mm) railway lines with their common point in Monforte de Lemos:
- Orense-Monforte de Lemos section: it belongs to the Monforte de Lemos-Bif Chapela line (line 810), is 46 km long and is electrified at 3kV.
- Monforte de Lemos-Lugo section: it belongs to the León-A Coruña line (line 800), is 71 km long and is not electrified.
The work included repairing the support, enlarging the section, building niches and lowering the platform to increase the gauge of the line on the
Monforte de Lemos - Lugo section from km 019+798 to 028+183 in the following 3 tunnels:
- Nº10 Amorín (98 metres)
- Nº11 De las Donas (26 metres)
- Nº12 Esquieira (85 metres)
